On April 16, 2026, in the building of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Honorable Kohir Rasulzoda, a regular meeting of the National Council for Combating Corruption of the Republic of Tajikistan was held.
The meeting was attended by members of the Council from among the heads of ministries and agencies, committees of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, political parties, public associations, civil society, and representatives of the mass media.
The Chairman of the Council opened the meeting and presented information on the activities of the Council in 2025 and its Work Plan for 2026. It was noted that the effectiveness of combating corruption deeply depends on the collective efforts of state bodies and civil society, on the basis of which real mechanisms of control, transparency, and accountability are ensured at all levels.
It is for this reason that the National Council for Combating Corruption was established, and on its basis - Public commissions for the prevention of corruption under the executive bodies of state power of regions, cities, and districts, whose main task is to organize and implement comprehensive anti-corruption measures and to coordinate the activities of state bodies with civil society.
During the meeting, the results of the comprehensive monitoring of the implementation of the State Strategy for combating corruption in the Republic of Tajikistan for the period up to 2030 in the first five-year stage (2021–2025), the activities of the Public commissions for the prevention of corruption, as well as the issue of using digital technologies in the process of combating corruption were considered. Reports on these issues were heard from the heads of a number of ministries and agencies, local executive bodies of state power, and the civil society coalition for transparency and combating corruption.
Members of the Council and heads of all state institutions were instructed, in the process of implementing the state anti-corruption policy, not to show indifference, but to actively contribute to eliminating the causes and conditions conducive to corruption, reducing its level in the country, and improving the position of the Republic of Tajikistan in international rankings.
At the end of the event, the Work Plan of the National Council for combating corruption for 2026 was approved, and, taking into account the issues discussed and proposals from the Council members, a decision of the meeting was adopted.
Overall, the meeting of the Council was held at a high level, and it can be confidently stated that its results will create a favorable basis for drawing the attention of state institutions and civil society to the issue of combating corruption, as well as for implementing modern measures to combat this phenomenon.
