On September 18, 2025, at the initiative of the Agency for State Financial Control and Anti-Corruption of the Republic of Tajikistan, a republican conference titled “Combating Corruption – A Factor of Development in the Energy Sector” was held in the building of OJSC “Barqi Tojik” in collaboration with institutions of the country’s energy sector.

The primary goal of this event was to enhance anti-corruption awareness, prevent corruption-related offenses, strengthen the system of electronic payments for public services, and eliminate human involvement in this area through the use of digital technologies.

During the conference, it was emphasized that the energy sector is one of the key foundations of economic and social development for any state in the modern world. In particular, in the Republic of Tajikistan, which possesses rich hydropower resources, the construction of hydroelectric power plants serves not only as a primary source of electricity for the population but also as a crucial factor in ensuring energy security and sustainable economic development.

Participants were urged to adhere to the wise policies of the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, in preventing corruption-related crimes in the energy sector, including losses and theft of electricity, without showing indifference. By doing so, they contribute to the realization of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan’s strategic goal of achieving energy independence.
