What is corruption?
corruption is an act (or inaction) committed by a person authorized to perform state functions or a person equated to them, using their official position and the opportunities it provides to illegally obtain material or non-material benefits, advantages, or other privileges for their own benefit or the benefit of another person. It also includes directly or indirectly providing such benefits, advantages, or privileges to subjects of corruption-related offenses to induce or reward them for committing such acts in the interests of an individual or legal entity (Article 1 of the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan "On Combating Corruption").
